Downtown Toronto
Hey Everyone!
It has been a crazy all over the place week! we have had so much going on! We had zone conference, and we drove the Toronto and Christie sisters with us. Sis Di Ruscio is from Italy, and we were talking about idioms, and she was so confused at some of the things that we say. Some of them are pretty weird...
on Splits with the Hermana Sis..
1.) I went on Exchanges with Hermana Johnson! She is so much fun! We had a lesson with someone that we are teaching, and he is very knowledgeable in the bible. It was really fun though., he would be like; "Can you turn to this chapter please and look up this scripture. So how do you feel about prophets and dispensations?" We are like; "Yeah we believe in that." Then he is says. " What, I cant find anywhere else that does." Its funny because while we were teaching him the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ, we were like both showing each other scriptures that worked together to explain it. He was so intrigued. He listened to President Nelson's last talk at general conference and he loved it.
Drive to Zone conference in Toronto traffic. For a distance that takes 1 hour takes you 4 and a half....
2.) We had zone conference this week in Oshawa it was really good! We talked a lot about the restoration and just creating better study habits. It was a good boost! There are so many blessings that have come from the gospel of Jesus Christ, and how God's plan plays a role in our lives!
This is what the front door at mission home looks like on transfer day!
It has been a great week packed full of adventures, and meeting great and interesting people! I love you all, and hope you have a fantastic week!

The Prophet of God was here :)

20 Aug 2018

Our dear Prophet of God! Pres. Nelson
Hey everyone!
This week was Amazing so many miracles!
1.) We met this guy around the college, and he like walks up to us, then he's like; "Are you Mormon missionaries?" We were like yes. and then we talked to him for like an hour on prophets, the Book of Mormon, how it is another Testament of Jesus Christ, and how the prophets are called. It was really awesome! We are meeting with him again tomorrow, and so I am really excited!

Dinner with Harman!
2.) We had dinner with a member the other day, and he is from India and was baptized a few years ago. We asked him about how he met the missionaries and joined the church? He was like, "Yeah I met them on the street, and they asked me how I found purpose in life, and I wasn't really sure. They told me they had a really cool message that they shared about God's plan for us and how it blesses our lives, then they gave me a card and left." We were like; "Did they set up an appointment with you?" He was like; "No I just showed up at church. I really wanted to know that answer!" Missionary miracles!
Elder Anderson, an Apostle of God

The Saints gathered in Hamilton, Ontario, Aug 2018
3.) President Russell M. Nelson, his wife and Elder Anderson and his wife came to Hamilton this Sunday, and they had an Ontario wide conference devotional. It was Amazing! They talked a lot about priesthood authority and receiving personal revelation.  The spirit was so strong and the feeling of love, that filled the room was overwhelming :)
I Know that God works the same yesterday, today and forever, and that he has called a Prophet to guide us through the challenges of today. That he has authority of God to fulfill his calling. I know that we can receive our owns answers from God, and that the spirit testifies of the truths in our lives!
I love you all so much and I hope you have an amazing week!

Sore ribs!

Sheena Fernandez sent this as they were at Family Home Evening YSA
There's not too much to write this week, but we have been busy working.
It has been a  really good week! I went on an emergency exchange with some Sisters, and that was good.
I slipped in the shower for the first time ever, because I was trying to make the water, so it wouldn't burn my skin. Then I slipped on the curtain, and landed on the side of the tub on my ribs. So I have been a bit sore for the last few days but I am doing better. We have been doing lots of contacting. We had a lesson with someone we are teaching at the stake presidents house, so that was fun. He is from Finland and is pretty quiet, but his wife makes up for it. It went really well!
I'm glad Sister Smith's fireside went well!
Pres Nelson comes on the 19th, and we are riding with a senior couple, so it should be fun! I am doing good, I love Sister Bird, and we are having alot of fun together. We have a few exchanges this week, so should be good!
 Love you tons!
 Have an amazing week!
Love, Leilani
Got this sent a week later from Leilani

Miracles on the streets of Toronto

7 Aug 2018

My new companion In downtown Toronto, Sis Bird from Alaska
Hey Everyone!
So this has been the craziest week of my life! In the words of one of my favorite missionaries who just left this area.

I have never ran so much!
I have never been so tired!
I have never felt so uncomfy!
I have never wanted to nap more in my life!
I never thought I would be okay with all of the above!
-Sister Hollyman

I am so happy to be here, it is an amazing place

1.) We were walking around in the evening the other day, and we really wanted to find a new person. teach a lesson and set an appointment. Sister Bird was like; "Okay there is going to be someone on this street we are going to teach, and set an appointment with."
The first Ice Cream truck I have ever seen!
Thai food! Yes !!! At the food court!
The next person we talked to was like; "Can you share something right now, I have a few minutes." We ended up sharing a 20 min restoration lesson, and he is really excited to meet up and learn more!

2.) We took one of our recent converts contacting yesterday, down at one of the colleges, because he is thinking of going on a mission, and it was super fun! We met some really cool people, whom we got to share a super short lesson with, and that we set up appointments with.
She was just with Kiara and now home and in YSA
Jamie(dad) & Sheena Fernandez, me & Sis Bird. Sheena was Kiara's companion in Grand Prairie
3.) Sunday at church I finally had the privilege of meeting one of Kiara's companions from her mission. Sheena Fernandez! She is so much fun! We are meeting up this week, so I am excited to hear some mission stories! Also YSA(Young Single Adults) is so much fun! We have some really amazing people in the branch, and we are going to the temple this week with a returning member! So should be lots of fun!
I hope you all have an amazing week! Also Sister Maires, we found Drake and we are having dinner with his neighbor tonight :)
Love you all!

DOWNTOWN...

30 July 2018

Hey Everyone!

Transfer news is in! I'm headed to Toronto YSA in the heart of the city! YSA is the young single adults ward, so I will be heading to people aged 18-30. I am super excited! My new comapnion is Sister Bird from Alaska. She is great! She was my STL(Sister training Leader) in Kitchener, so I am really excited! But I am sad to be leaving Sister Simonsen, but she will be great! I guess I am now and STL also.

The Bell tower. We got to play the Carolan which plays the bells. I suck but Sister Simonsen is great!

1.) We had a Relief Society tea party!  It was so great! We had one of the people we are trying to teach come, she is really good friends with one of our members, and she came by herself. Then on Friday she drove us to the Relief Society lunch, so we got to know her a lot better. It was super fun!
Sis Simonsen & I at the Toronto temple

Sis Maires & I, From the MTC with me.
2.) Thursday, we went to Brampton for six week follow ups, because Sister Simonsen is new, and we got to go to the temple. It was so great! I love the temple so much! Then we got home, and then had a lesson with Jason. We talked about the temple and how we can be sealed to our families for time and all eternity. That's why we get married there, also we get to do work for those of our ancestors that have passed on. He was so excited. The Prophet President Russell. M Nelson is coming to Ontario in a few weeks, and he is super excited. He is always like; "I can't wait to see Russell." haha
Ice cream festival with Will!
July Missionary birthdays
3.) Jason came to church on Sunday, and he really loved it. The end of the last meeting he looked at his watch and was like; "Wow it's almost over... the hours goes so fast!" It was great he is so prepared, and really looking for peace and God in his life! The gospel of Jesus Christ brings so much happiness, I can't stop smiling!

I love you all so much, and hope you have an amazing week! Wish me luck in the City! ahhhhhhh

Niagara Falls Finally!
Hey thanks everyone for all the Birthday wishes!!!!!
This week has been so great!
The BIG 20! No longer a teenager
My Birthday!
1.) We met someone new, who we are teaching! Jason is awesome! We met him while we were car fasting, (Going on Bikes) and he is so interested! He texts us to find out when we can meet, so he can learn more! It's been really exciting! He got sick this weekend, as we invited him to church when we met earlier this week. He texted us Sunday, and told us he wouldn't be able to make it, because he is really sick, but he is excited, and will be there next week!
Sis Simonsen & Me at Niagara Falls

Looking towards the American Side and Falls at Niagara
2.) We went to Niagara last P-day and it was Amazing! Niagara was so much fun, and we met a bunch of Mormons! (LDS) haha They have the Book of Mormon pageant in Palmyra, New York, and they all came up for their day off to see the falls. It was all the families who volunteer to be actors and stuff, so it was really fun. We were walking down there, and people were like; "SISTERS!" It was awesome, and we got to talk to a bunch of them!

3.) My birthday was a party! We had a meeting with our Branch mission leader who takes care of us! Then we had a lesson with Will, and we invited him to be baptized. He said; "Yes once he prays about it, and receives and answer!" So we are pretty excited! It poured on the way home, and we were walking, so we got soaked. On the way we got this really sketchy Carribean food, that I am pretty sure had been sitting out all day!  But it didn't kill us, so we are all good!

Interesting sign

4.) Gregory is getting baptized, and we were reviewing the baptismal questions, and were going through the Word of Wisdom, and he was like; "Yeah, yeah we are all good!' Then he was like; "Wait tea?" So we talked about black tea, and the difference. He was like; "I just bought 9 boxes of Chai tea. they aren't black tea though!" So we went out and looked, and it was black tea with spices. We were like; "No go Gregory!" We were all laughing so hard, but he got rid of them. haha! I am so excited for him!
