Biggest Lindt. Chocolate I have ever seen...
1.  I went on exchanges with Hermana Dickey from Utah. She is really fun! We got to teach this guy named Ziyad, he is Muslim, but we have been meeting with him for a while. We gave him a church tour a few weeks ago, and he really loved it. Then he came to our ward game night which was really fun!
I love Mississauga celebration square
2. We attended a wedding! It was really amazing! Friday we got a call asking Sister Clay if she would play the piano, and she said yes, so she played as the bride walked down the isle. It was so cute! It was really fun to help out, and they will always remember where there wedding took place! They needed a church to get married in, and no other church would let them, because they have two kids. But at least now they are married!
English Class
3. David the little boy we have been teaching got baptized!!!!!! It was the best and he loved it. He was so excited, and last time we saw him he was like, "I have been waiting for this for so long!" We filled up the font and during the program it drained a ton, so he had to sit down and then lean back to be immersed. haha! But it was really cute! I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to share the gospel and to really the see the joy it brings when people really apply it, and see the changes in their lives! I am truly blessed!
David's baptism!
Love you all and I hope you have an amazing week! Light the World starts next week. the opportunity to reach out and serve those in your community and neighbourhood and family! Got to lighttheworld.org if you want to see the calendar and the videos for some ideas!

Sis Clay and I

This week has been packed full of fun events!!!

Nov Zone Conference.
1. We got called Tuesday morning to go do some service at this Chinese nursing home. Yee Hong. A member works there, and she needed help bringing some residents down to play drums for their activity. So we went and helped them out! It was really fun haha. There is this Filipino lady that lives there. We walked in and she was like "Do you speak English?" We were like, yes. She said"Oh good, because I never know what's going on!" The activity was in Cantonese and Mandarin and everyone that works there speaks those. But it was really cute. After we visited with one of our members that lives there, she is 93 and speaks 5 languages. She would almost finish her story and then she would say. "Oh it's just a mess. Life is just a mess!" It's TRUE, though things never turn out just the way that we think they will. Things don't happen to us they happen for us. It's what we choose to do with it :)

District 13... it's been fun!
2. We had a English class Christmas party, and we got everyone to bring a treat from the country that they are from. It was really awesome. We taught them some Christmas songs, and had a talent show. It was really cute! We have started meeting with some of them, and they have changed a lot since they started coming. It's really cool to see.
Drum class at the Seniors home

Exchanges with Sis Hudson and Me
3. My new companion is Sister Shen! She is coming back. She was my companion for the first week of last transfer, but she is coming back here for my last transfer! It's crazy how fast it all went!

Sugar Marmalade with Anthony!
4. We play badminton with a bunch of Chinese people on Friday nights. There is a couple that comes, and they are the best! Sharon and James. They invited us for dinner Sunday night. So we went and Sharon brought her super, cute mom. We had hot pot! They just kept putting food in and onto our plates. I felt like I was going to explode, but it was so good! Then they made us play ping pong before we could leave. I almost got beat by an 80 year old woman. Hahaha! It has been a  really great week, and a really blessed transfer!

Love you all DON'T forget to light the WORLD!!!

Sis Clay & I
Hey Everyone!
Please excuse my laziness. I know it has been a few weeks since I wrote an email...
This week has been packed full of goodness. We had exchanges with the Creditview sisters in Brampton, which was really fun. I went to Brampton with Sister Lindsey. It was a lot of fun, and we had some real quality conversations on this random street, while hanging up posters for English class. I managed to inhale a piece of tape while tearing it, to put up the posters which was fun, but all is well!
Elder & Sis Anderson from Taber & Sis Lindsey
We met this lady who was really interested in the Book of Mormon, that we talked to for like 30 min., and she was really excited for us to come back!  It was a good time!
Wednesday we had exchanges with the Churchville YSA Sisters which was fun. They are in a trio so I went with Sister Lin and Sister McLaughlin. They are a party! We had a few lessons, and they are teaching this really solid guy, that they found a few weeks ago, who is so prepared. It is awesome! They taught him about the restoration, and he was just super excited about it. He has been coming to church and reading the Book of Mormon. He is getting baptized in a few weeks. It's really cool!

We had zone conference this week which was really good. We talked about the gospel of Jesus Christ and what is means to us. Each aspect of it, and how it effects our lives. Faith, Repentance, Baptism, the Gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the End. We got to give an instruction in our zone breakout. That was really cool! We just asked a bunch of questions, thinking about our conversion to our Savior.
A few from my MTC group Sis. Anderson, Smith & Me, Elders at MLC
Example questions:
Faith-How has your faith deepened through trials and testing?
Repentance- How have you felt the Savior's love, as you have earnestly prayed for forgiveness?
Baptism - How have you taken Christ's name upon you?
Gift of the Holy Ghost - What is your most powerful spiritual experience,: and why is it so powerful to you?
Enduring to the End -How has the gospel of Jesus Christ changed you?

Toronto
I definitely know that The Gospel of Jesus Christ has changed my life and that the experiences I have had I can never deny. I feel so blessed to have the knowledge that God has a plan for each of us and that we have so much divine potential.
I love you all and I hope you have an amazing week!

no group letter this week

12 Nov. 2018

So Leilani did not have time to write this week. But told me she has been super busy doing exchanges, being very sick, and having fun with Sis. Clay doing missionary work. Elder Anderson (from mission office)phoned and let me know that she was doing great! they are singing in the Stake Choir, and speaking, but that they were visiting the whole time inbetween. She was leaving today to go on exchanges again, and will be eating with the Andersons Tues. night. So I told him to tease her lots.  He said he does anyways.  She did send some pictures of her district.

My new Companion Sis Clay & I
Hey everyone!
This week was pretty great! We had a busy week, but have been a bit sick, but it was good. I havent had a computer to write with, so no letter last week, and short this week.

So I was transferred to Mississauga, as you know and am with Sis. Clay from Pocatello. I am still an STL so will be going on splits still with other sisters.

Mississauga Skyline at dusk
We have been teaching this boy named David he is 10 and he is the best! His mom is a less active member but she is really nice. She has been coming to church with him. He really wants to be baptized, and she was on board this week, and we have started somewhat teaching her too. It's hard because she doesn't really speak English, so we have to get someone to come translate Mandarin, but it's going really well!
Bayview mandarin Besties!
We had MLC this week which was really good. They talked a lot about obedience and how it can be passive or active,  but it's really our attitude to everything that we do. It was really good. Also the end of MLC they get all the departing missionaries to bear there testimonies, and all the sisters going home have been my companions. Sad.😪 It's really amazing to see all the things they have accomplished, and how we have all changed throughout our missions. So grateful for them!!! Everything is by divine design that's for sure!
Anyways I hope you all have a great week, love you!

Ripley's Aquarium
HEY!
Well this week started out a bit rough...
So every preparation day we always go get groceries with the elders. E. Heck, E. Lau, E. McFarland, and E. Palmer. We all ride into the van because it's easier than taking the bus to go back and forth every time. But this transfer we were all super tight and wow it has really changed my life. On Monday we were riding to drop off groceries, and the Elders were like "Oh wait we have to grab Elder Palmer's stuff, and we were like; "We don't need to go with you, just drop us off at the church so we can email. But wait what's going on?"
Elder McFarlands like; "I'm getting transferred to Brantford for the week" and Elder Palmer is going to Churchville for the day." And I was like that doesn't make sense what is really going on! Elder McFarland is the new assistant to the president.
Wow, I am a wimp when people start to leave.
I really know that God places people in our lives when we really need them. One thing that i have really learned this transfer is that even within 5 weeks i have learned so much from the people around me and I have felt the love of my savior more than ever. Missions are way harder than I could have ever imagined and in so many different ways than I thought possible. But you make the most meaningful memories and have so many experiences that shape your life.
District meeting
Transfers end and new people come into your life that teach you new things. I honestly wish this transfer would never end. I have witnessed so many miracles and I know the Joy that comes from the gospel and how much it can change lives.

We were at an MLC meeting a few weeks ago and the Assistants gave an instruction on connection.
There are two parts content and connection
Content: what is happening, what is said.
Connection: the response to the content.
What creates connection?
Who is in your life that you connect with?
What developed that connection?
How have you continually strengthened that?
" Christ felt all the content so He can connect with us."
God works through others, he sends us people to uplift and guide us and in a sense call us to repentance. We act on the advice they give us. We create a deeper love and connection. It's the same with the Savior. He guides us, He helps us repent and we build that bond with Him.
the #STANGGANG FAMILY
This week has been so great, and so hard.
I am so blessed to have the people In my life that I do.

We had Stake conference this weekend. It was really good. The whole Saturday night session was on ministering and how we can be more of an example of Christ in our every day lives. How we can do more. It was really cool because after church Sunday, we were standing and talking to members. I have been pretty stressed for this transfer call, because I really dont want to leave. Harman was like;  "Sister St. Onge you look stressed, do you want a blessing."
I was like;  "Uh yes, that would actually be really great!"
MIRACLES. It made the day a lot better. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and I am so grateful for the power of God, that has been restored to the earth. I hope you all have an amazing week and tell those that you love. That you love them!
some of the best

So transfer news!  I am getting transferred to Mississauga with Sister Holly Clay! Should be a party! She is from Pocatello, Idaho and she was my STL in Hamilton for two transfers. We will be in a trio with Sister Shen for a week, and she is from Taiwan! I have never had a foreign comp. so should be fun :)

Awesome graffiti!
Hey everyone!
This has been one of the busiest weeks of my life!
We had 3 exchanges. After the second exchange this week I went to Bayview with Sister Morgan. She is from Salem, Oregon. I went back into Mandarin work, it was super fun! I learned a bit more this time, but it is still very limited haha!I can now say I am a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Would you like to come to English class? That is the extent of my Mandarin. Sister Morgan is cool, she has only been out two transfers, and she can have a pretty good conversation in Mandarin without missing a beat. So the gift of tongues is real! That was pretty cool to experience!

We were riding the bus and I met this lady from Turkey on the way to our apartment, and she was super nice, but I didn't get to talk to her for very long. An hour later we got back on the same bus, and she was headed home, but she saw me and we talked the whole way!She was like I dont think it's a coincidence that we are seeing each other again. Her 4 year old son has leukemia and is going through treatment. She is like;"Let me give you my number, I would love it if you could stop by! It was really amazing!

The next exchange was with Sister Aubin, and she is from France! We have had 3 of the same companions, but we have never served around each other, so that was pretty fun! So many miracles! It's interesting, I feel like my whole mission I have served around pretty much the same group of people. We kind of just slowly move around, and then there are some people that I have never met and just see randomly at meetings. There are so many new missionaries, It's' crazy, I feel like I don't know anyone anymore, since everyone is going home! It's so weird!

Yesterday we were all over the city, but there was a cool event happening at the church. They had Mark Twain come and speak, so that was cool. We got to help set up, but we actually had a lesson with Laurel. She is so cool. We also brought a member teaching with us, who is actually from Alberta! Shoutout to Kerryn from Okotoks! It went really well, and Laurel is really excited to get baptized!

Sunday was pretty great, Laurel cane to church, and she really loved it. After we went downtown to dinner with . She is really cool! She does special effects for movies, and she just finished a "Series of Unfortunate Events" so that's pretty cool. She had a Harry Potter themed dinner the night before, so we had pumpkin pasties and butter bear and deathly hallow chicken pot pies. I am blessed! Pretty great day!

It has been a really crazy week but we have really seen God's hand more and more. Also all the General Conference talks are already out! That was the fastest I have ever seen that happen, so crazy! They were all so amazing, and I would love to hear the things that you have learned, or that stuck out to you! I know God guides us through a Prophet and the Apostles today, and that ''He is anxiously waiting to reveal the secrets of the universe!"Love you all have an amazing week!
